With all the excitement of Christmas a long distant memory, imagine our delight when we discovered a little present (ok, a freebie that came with the dog food) that had been set aside and forgotten all about. Squeaky tennis balls! Theo makes a fantastic racket with these, particularly early in the morning to make sure every one is awake. He occasionally plays catch, but most of the time, simply chews them like gum. He stands there with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and then casually chews one of the balls, out of the side of his mouth. In the photo below, you can see them still in their weave-wrapping. Rest assured, we rescued this from Theo (briefly) and used scissors to release the balls. If we’d let him continue, he’d have enjoyed a good flossing but may have hurt his mouth. As with most toys, I secretly suspect that Theo enjoyed the rustle and bustle of wrapping paper and the joy of the discovery of new things to play with. Now he appears to be trying to hatch them as he has carefully herded the balls into his bed and is lying on them. Good times!
Squeaky balls are the best. I like to press my nose against them over and over again:-)
lol – playtime is the best! And Theo is still enjoying tearing up the big cardboard box all the toys came in.
