Theo's Rules (the Tao of Theo)

Theo’s Rules (the Tao of Theo)

Kim and I were walking in a farmer’s field in Biggin Hill today, and as usual were talking about Theo, and his view of the world. This soon evolved into a possible set of rules and thinking that resonates with the ginger dog we know and love. Kim thought this may be best described as “The Tao of Theo” (better said with an Irish accent).

From the dog’s point of view, his master is an elongated and abnormally cunning dog“. ~Mabel Louise Robinson

Rule 1# If Theo can sniff it, Theo will wee on it.

Rule 2# Theo goes in front.

Rule 3# If it runs, it’s worth chasing.

Rule 4# Even if you put cheese around a worming tablet, it’s still a worming tablet.

Rule 5# Sometimes cow pats are tasty.

Rule 6# Never walk in a straight line (aka why zig when you can zag!)

Rule 7# Just because someone throws a ball, doesn’t mean that it’s worth chasing.

Rule 8# When you’re in the woods, mind the trees (that one’s for Kim).

Rule 9#  If you stare for long enough, they will realise it’s time for a walk…

Rule 10# Don’t follow your dreams, chase them.
