Welcome to Theo’s Dog Blog, a dog lover’s blog about the good, the bad and the very, very muddy!

To paraphrase Malcolm Gladwell’s foreword in  ‘The Big New Yorker Book of Dogs‘:

A few words about you. You visited our blog bought this book: several hundred pages on dogs. You are, in other words, as unhealthily involved in the emotional life of dogs as the rest of us. Have you wondered why? One possible answer is that you see the subject of man’s affection for dogs as a way of examining all sorts of broader issues. Is it the case of a simple thing revealing a great many complex truths? But let’s be clear. You didn’t really visit this site because of some grand metaphor. Dogs are not about something else. Dogs are about dogs.

If you’re new to the blog, this is what we believe in:

1. Our dog Theo is part of the family, but he’s a dog not a human.
2. Training should be positive and reward based.
3. There’s no such thing as pack leader, we’re a family.

As we grow the site, we will be adding a variety of content, from our misadventures and experiences with training, to tips and hints on dog ownership and reviews of which equipment, toys and clothing we use and recommend.

Where is everything?

We’ve categorised the content along the following lines:

Blog – a chronology of our adventures.

About – who, what and why we starting this blog.

Gallery – our pictures and image library.

Movies – clips and videos of Theo and his friends.

Friends – Theo’s playmates

Walks – reviews and info of our perambulations and how we found our way after we got lost.

Training – updates and overviews of the trainers we’ve met, as well as all the useful information we’ve picked up along the way that you might find useful.

Articles – even more ginger goodness! Articles on all matters dog related.

Toolbox – reviews, thoughts and musings upon the dog food, toys, clothing, equipment and gadgets that we’ve tried, broken, and nibbled by Theo (maybe that will be our new strapline).

Links – Friends we’ve met along the way.

Contact – why not get in touch? If you have an opinion, question or even would like to write on the dog blog, drop me a line.
